PRINCIPLE INVESTIGATOR
Yuyu Zhou is a professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong, and an elected Fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
His research focuses on urban environmental change and its implications for human activities and welfares, utilizing geospatial technologies such as remote sensing, GIS, and integrated assessment modeling.
Zhou has published more than 180 papers indexed in SCI/SSCI journals, with notable publications in Energy & Environmental Science, PNAS, Nature Climate Change, Nature Ecology & Evolution, and Nature Communications. His work has been cited over 18,000 times on Google Scholar (H-Index: 68), and he has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher for 2022 and 2023 by Clarivate Analytics.
Zhou currently holds the position of Chief Editor for Earth System Science Data, and serves as an associate editor for journals such as Science of the Total Environment. He also serves as a consulting expert for international organizations such as the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Bank.
